HELEN SANGER

TRUMPET & PIANO

Teaching

Helen is currently living in West Hampstead and is an experienced teacher of both trumpet and piano, having taught young people of all abilities both privately and in schools. Her students range from beginners to advanced players preparing for music college auditions.

Trumpet

Helen’s aim as a trumpet teacher is to help her students find their own unique musical voice and become technically proficient enough to express it. Playing a brass instrument demands a physical and psychological approach particular to the individual and is why she endeavours to help her students establish a tailor-made practice regime that is both effective and rewarding.

Piano

Growing up in a musical family, Helen started piano lessons at a young age. She progressed quickly, achieved Grade 8 by the age of twelve and won the John Lill Piano Competition a few years later. Although she eventually decided to pursue a career as a trumpeter, her piano skills have enabled her to enjoy a passion for the instrument and pass on this enthusiasm to her pupils.
